The Band's Story

Founded in 1977, the Scottsdale Concert Band began as a small group of musicians united by a shared love of music and the belief in its power to connect, create, and build community. Over the years, the band has grown into a vibrant ensemble of over 50 dedicated members, ranging in age from teens to retirees. Today, the band continues to thrive, offering musicians a space to contribute to a rich musical tradition while forging lasting connections through performance.

The Scottsdale Concert Band has earned great recognition and honors for its commitment to excellence, including the prestigious Sudler Silver Scroll Award. We are also proud members of the Association of Concert Bands, further connecting our musicians to a network of like-minded ensembles across the nation. Our repertoire is as diverse as our members, encompassing everything from classic marches and jazz to show tunes and seasonal music—ensuring there’s something for every audience.

We take great pride in our community involvement and the loyal, enthusiastic audiences who support us at each performance. Our rehearsals bring together musicians once a week, and we work hard to ensure that every concert is a celebration of music, skill, and camaraderie.

Whether you’re a musician seeking a place to belong or a supporter looking to contribute to the arts, the Scottsdale Concert Band welcomes you. Join us in keeping the music alive and vibrant for years to come.
